On Wednesday, September 17, 2014, CSIS Freeman Chair in China Studies Christopher K. Johnson testified before the U.S. House Committee on Foreign Affairs’ Subcommittee on Asia and the Pacific, on the topic of “A New Era of U.S.-China Relations.” Chris and his co-panelist covered a range of issues in the bilateral economic relationship – including market access problems and intellectual property protection, the future of the Chinese Communist Party, China’s domestic economic reforms and challenges, and President Xi Jinping’s foreign policy.

Christopher K. Johnson is a senior adviser and holds the Freeman Chair in China Studies at CSIS. Prior to joining CSIS, Mr. Johnson worked as a senior China analyst at the Central Intelligence Agency.
