This week we cover the challenges that Myanmar faces maintaining public health and fighting disease, specifically malaria. In this segment you’ll hear briefly from CSIS’s Dr. Stephen Morrison, and then Myanmar’s Deputy Minister of Health, Ms. Thein Thein Htay, then Mr. Eh Kalu Shwe Oo, Director of Kayin State’s Department of Health and Welfare, and lastly the National League for Democracy’s senior health advisor to Aung San Suu Kyi, Dr. Tin Myo Win as they describe the efforts to eliminate the tropical disease given the numerous ethnic groups, several conflict zones, and low government capacity in Myanmar. Hosted by Colm Quinn.
